2025 Polaris RZR Pro R 4 Seat Dune Build: PCI Kenwood Radio, Custom Shorty Console & Baja Designs Lighting
The Goal
This customer rolled into the shop with a 2025 Polaris RZR Pro R 4 seat and one goal: get it ready for dune season. He wanted a full PCI Race Radios communications setup, lighting for dust and night runs, GPS, better music, and above all, a dash that still looked clean when we were done.

Custom Shorty Console for PCI Comms
For comms we went with a PCI Race Radios setup running a Kenwood radio and the Traxx intercom. He wanted it clean, so we built a custom shorty center console that holds only the Kenwood radio, the Traxx intercom and a single 12V outlet. Nothing extra, no clutter. The shorty profile keeps the cab open while putting the radio and intercom right where the driver and passenger can reach them.

Garmin PowerSwitch and Custom Wiring
For accessory control he chose the Garmin PowerSwitch. We mounted it down below the dash, which keeps the dash clean and leaves easy access for future add-ons and service. Every accessory on this car runs on custom wire harnesses we built in-house, made to the right length and routed clean instead of coiled-up universal kits.

Amber Interior Dome Lights
Inside, we installed 2 Baja Designs LED dome lights in amber, mounted with StayFlush dome light mounts. The wires run inside the cage, so there's nothing hanging or zip-tied. Just a clean, factory-looking finish.

Baja Designs Dust Lights and Side Shooters
Up front, 2 Baja Designs LP6 pods in amber sit in the bumper as dust lights. We added 2 Baja Designs LP4 side shooters for peripheral lighting, so he can see the edges of the trail and the dunes around him at night. The DRLs are wired to come on with the vehicle's daytime running lights.

Garmin Tread GPS on the Grab Bar
A Garmin Tread GPS sits on the passenger grab bar using a Chupacabra grab bar mount. The passenger can run navigation without blocking the driver's view or taking up dash space.

Starlink, Powered with the Vehicle Off
We also added Starlink and wired it directly to the second battery, so the customer stays connected even with the vehicle off. Perfect for camp at the dunes.
Factory Polaris Door Speakers
Music was a big deal for this customer, so we added the factory Polaris door speakers. They're a really nice add-on to the already stage 4 audio setup and fill the cab with sound for all four seats.
Dual Battery with Isolator
Every accessory on this build runs off a second battery with an isolator. One battery is saved only for starting the vehicle, and the second battery powers everything else. We always recommend a second battery when you're running accessories: you can use your radio, lights and music with the vehicle off and never worry about a dead battery when it's time to leave the dunes.
